Job Summary:	Join the Board of leading Ghanaian social enterprise Boomers!
Job Description:	Booomers bike frames are currently mainly sold in Europe, but the company is expanding to North America and the UK. We are the African leader in bamboo bike frames. Booomers and its founder and CEO, Kwabena Danso, have won numerous awards including the 2017 UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce SME of the Year. We have a clear strategy for growth, and now wish to strengthen our Board to help deliver this. We are particularly looking for individuals with high level skills and networks in one or more of the following areas: - Marketing (including social media-based product promotion), - Strategic finance and fundraising - Operations and distribution - Human Resources and legal
Requirements:	In addition, all Board members must: - Understand the strategic role and responsibilities of the Board - Be fully committed to Booomers’ social vision as well as its commercial success - Be able to commit the equivalent of at least 1 day a month to the work of Booomers including reviewing monthly management accounts, attending quarterly Board meetings and attending an annual Board and staff meeting - Be able to provide leadership and expertise in at least one area of significant importance to the company - Be committed to participating in self-assessment, peer review and accountability for your own performance and that of the whole Board. This is not currently a paid position but we offer out-of-pocket expenses and a Board meeting attendance allowance. More importantly, we offer the chance to work with a talented team and be part of making a positive difference in rural Africa. There may also be opportunities for Board members to invest in the company. Whilst knowledge of Ghana is an advantage, Board members may reside in any country and may participate in meetings using Skype etc.
