Job Description: The Operations Analyst will be part of the global Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) Advisory and Investment team and will primarily support the Advisory Animal Protein platform while devoting part of her/his time to cross sectoral work and support under the leadership of the Global Head for MAS Advisory. The Operations Analyst will work under the guidance of the Global Advisory Animal Protein Lead and will focus on sector and project research, project development, support in the portfolio monitoring, and project implementation. S/he is also expected to develop close working relationships with key MAS Advisory counterparts in the Regional departments, the Client Service Leaders, Cross-Cutting Advisory team, CRK team, Development Partner Relations, and the relevant practice groups and departments in the World Bank. Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 3 year term appointment. Duties and Accountabilities: Maintain a good working knowledge of current MAS investment and advisory operations in Animal Protein. Remain current on main industry trends, regional developments, sector issues, and available IFC products in the sector. Conduct research, analysis and compile information from internal and external sources for the benefit of the sector team. Provide research and analytical support; prepare presentations and reports to present information and analysis to a variety of audiences as may be requested. S/he will be the ‘go-to’ person for data/ research and all operational/resource support work for the Animal protein team. Maintain advisory client pipeline database, compile portfolio reports as needed, monitor database. Be on top of IFC systems and processes, including budgeting, results measurement and ASOP. Support the Animal Protein Lead in different aspects of project implementation and administration including writing concept notes, implementation plans and project supervision documents, procurement and execution of services, tracking and audit of project results, monitoring projects’ progress and budget, reporting to donors. Assist the Animal Protein Lead with overall portfolio management, planning and monitoring of results and deliverables so as to ensure timely and quality delivery of the work program. Participate in project appraisals and support project development as needed. Interact effectively with an extensive network of contacts (both internal and external), and respond effectively to inquiries and to diverse situations that require tact and pragmatic problem-solving skills. Liaise when needed with partners, clients, and service providers to ensure continuity of business operations Serve as an integral part of the Animal Protein team and extended MAS advisory team and support TTLs as needed providing them with advice, implementation support, and assistance with project implementation management Be able to Effectively communicate the Animal Protein and broader advisory offering to investment and country teams as needed
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in economics, finance, business or equivalent o Minimum 3 years’ experience in consulting, banking or other knowledge-based work environment o Strong organizational, administrative, project and task management skills o High levels of energy and resourcefulness; problem solving and learning ability o Outstanding inter-personal skills, judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters o Recognized as a team player, collaborator, and strategic thinker o Sound business judgment, demonstrated ability to deliver results under stressful timetables and environment o Ability to deal sensitively in multi-cultural environments and build effective working relations with clients and colleagues o Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. French language skills would be an advantage o Proficiency in relevant computer software (excel, power point) and ability to organize and manipulate data as well as present it effectively
