I am sorry to read of your friend's death and my condolences and deepest sympathy to you and her family. I share the sentiments in your Editorial; such a sad loss can shake one's own engagement with life.
My feeling has always been that such loss reminds us to live our own lives more fully, more meaningfully and with gratitude, as a fitting memorial to those we lose. Live well for both oneself and for those who no longer can.
