| 22 September – Nelson Mandela Children's Fund (UK) Gala Dinner 2010, London One of Nelson Mandela's first actions on becoming President of the newly democratic South Africa in 1994 was to establish the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. He committed one third of his Presidential salary for five years to ensure the continuation of the Fund- as his charitable legacy for children. The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund UK is a registered charity in the UK whose main purpose is to fundraise for and publicise the work of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund in South Africa. We also work with schools throughout the UK as part of our advocacy and citizenship programme. TThe event will be held in the fabulous Thomas Lord Suite at Lords Cricket Ground on 22nd September 2010. Tickets are now on sale for £95 each or £900 for a table of 10 people. There will be a four course dinner, half a bottle of wine per person and entertainment included in the ticket price for what promises to be a wonderful evening to celebrate another year of achievement for NMCF UK.
