Is your heart yearning for the drumbeat of home? Find out about opportunities back home at Homecoming Revolution’s Speed Meet Africa event taking place in London on 4 & 5 March 2016 at the Park Plaza Victoria

Speed Meet Africa London is expected to attract over 600 UK-based Africans interested in Career, Relocation, Property, Education and Investment Opportunities on the continent.

The interactive event also offers an exciting intra-African networking opportunity with African movers and shakers across various industries in the UK, incorporating many “Speed Meet” sessions, which run on fixed time slots on a round-robin basis.

Thousands Want to Come Home

Speed Meet Africa is organised by Homecoming Revolution, a South-African based organisation with a mission to bring African professionals home to Africa. In January 2003, Homecoming Revolution was launched across the internet to 20,000 South Africans worldwide, in partnership with Morrisjones, Marina Smithers PR, THOS and SAW. What started as a small launch quickly spread into a global campaign. Thousands of South Africans around the world wanted to come home.

For Angel Jones, Founder & CEO of Homecoming Revolution, “The success of the campaign is that it portrays a very realistic, honest picture of life in Africa. We know it can be a trade off to come home, but the trade off is worth it. And that’s why the bulk of the campaign features stories of people who’ve already returned. Because there’s no better proof than the frank, believable tales of diverse individuals who’ve grappled with the decision themselves. Some homecomers have started their own businesses, some are nurturing a family, some are climbing up the corporate ladder and some are working at grassroots level – all working to really make a difference in Africa. People are realising that every country has its own set of problems, yet at home you get to live a life not just of success, but of significance too.”

The interactive event also offers an exciting intra-African networking opportunity with African movers and shakers, incorporating many “Speed Meet” sessions.

The organisation, initially focused on South Africans, is now expanding to include East Africans and West Africans from countries including Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda.

Speed Meet Africa - London

Visitors to the London event in March 2016 will be able to meet top Pan-African employers working across a variety of sectors, expand their intra-African network, encounter schools, property and relocation services and receive practical advice on returning.

“It’s vital that Africans abroad stay in touch with the opportunities that their motherland presents, whether they think they’re ready to return home or not,” comments Homecoming Revolution CEO Angel Jones.

Attendees will also be inspired by moving case studies and exciting keynotes including Nik Rabinowitz (SA Comedian), Biola Alabi (Nigerian Media icon), Julie Gichuru (Kenyan entrepreneur and media personality) and Eddie Mandhry (Yale Director for Africa).

Speed Meet Africa incorporates many “speed meet” sessions which work on fixed time slots on a round-robin basis, giving attendees all the career, networking and repatriation tools they need.
