A major Careers Expo in London will offer Africans abroad the chance to take their skills back into Africa
Now in its 12th year, this Homecoming Revolution flagship event is the biggest of its kind. Attracting African international professionals, employers, exhibitors, speakers and media, it’s the one-stop platform for careers, property, schools, relocation services, entrepreneurship and investment opportunities.
Established in 2003, Homecoming Revolution is the one-stop repatriation platform for Africans living abroad. Through global events, e-marketing and tailored search, we leverage the emotional hook of connecting the diaspora to their homelands. The organisation showcases career, property, schools, relocation advice and entrepreneurial opportunities, and assists businesses operating in Africa to find talent and customers.
Africa Deserves Her Skills Back
Homecoming Revolution was launched in January 2003 across the internet to 20,000 South Africans worldwide and quickly spread into a global campaign, highlighting thousands of South Africans around the world who wanted to come home.
Founder and CEO of the Homecoming Revolution, Angel Jones recalls: “I remember looking up at Madiba as he waved to thousands of pale-faced South Africans from the balcony of the South African embassy.
“It was 1999, on a freezing Tuesday morning in London’s Trafalgar Square. Madiba said ‘I love you all so much, I want to put you in my pocket and take you home’. And the roaring crowd filled my ears as a fundamental realization hit me hard. What the hell are we all doing so far away? It’s time to go home.”

No Better Time
This is the right time for Africans abroad to bring their skills home to Africa, says Angel Jones. “7 out of the World top 10 fasted growing economies are in Africa so this has never been a better time to return home. In South Africa alone for past 5 years 349 thousand South Africans have returned and the brain grain has reversed. Did you know for every 1 skilled person returned home 9 jobs are created in the formal and informal sector?
“The top 5 reasons given by returnees are as follows:
This is why there is no better time for Africans to play a fulfilling and rewarding role in the Africa rising story.”
“Companies in Africa are hungry for highly skilled talent and Homecoming Revolution showcases not just the jobs but property, school, relocation services, entrepreneur and investment opportunities too.”
