A Touch of Art is an annual art exhibition organized by PartYcipate Events, an event and entertainment brand which aims to raise awareness about socioeconomic and healthcare issues affecting disadvantaged communities. The exhibition features affordable African inspired art from up and coming African and non-African artists all over the world and aims to raise the profile of art from this region. Featured artists are given the chance to showcase their talents and speak to a diverse audience about their work.

In 2013, we will be supporting the Songhai Art Foundation which assists struggling artists in Ghana and Africa to commercialize and promote their work. Africa Writes - the UK's largest celebration of contemporary African and Diaspora literature - returns this summer, from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July at the British Library.

Organised by the Royal African Society in partnership with The British Library, Africa Writes 2013 will feature an exciting series of book launches, readings, panel discussions, poetry, performances, children & youth workshops and other literary activities. Now in its second year, Africa Writes will bring together established and emerging literary figures from across the continent and the Diaspora to the world’s second largest library for a weekend of contemporary African Writing and discussion. The festival also hosts a public book fair for UK publishers of fiction and non-fiction books on Africa and by Africans. The festival’s major festival highlight will be the event: "Two Writers, Two Generations: Ngugi wa Thiong's & Mukoma wa Ngugi" on SATURDAY, 6th July, 6:30-8PM

Spanning the history of Africa’s independence and its contemporary literary scene, acclaimed author Ngugi wa Thiong'o and his son, Mukoma Wa Ngugi, discuss their respective preoccupations and aspirations as writers of different generations. Chaired by Ellah Allfrey, Deputy Editor of Granta Magazine.

Africa Writes 2013 takes place at The British Library from Friday 5th – Saturday 7th July.
