Dear Editor As always, a very encouraging Editorial on the positive benefit women bring to organizations. Of course we have known this all along, but glad the rest of the world is waking up at last and seeing the evidence. I am going to forward your article to two very bright young women in my own family aged 17 and 18, and hope they will make a big difference in their generation and it will be easier for them to rise to the top of their respective organisations in the years ahead. Thanks again for an excellent article. Catherine Carthy, London Dear Editor I like this article very much. I lost my position when I went on maternity leave. My relationship with my boss turned sour when I got pregnant and he started hating me because I had to stay home on my doctor's advice due to complications. He, however, enjoyed working with me since he confessed my contributions were very significant. I think women, wherever we are, bring improvement and development. Felicia Dear Editor I am an African woman based in Buckinghamshire. I have been receiving your ReConnect Africa newsletter for about a year now and I am writing to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your article titled 'Calling Time on African Time.' I read it a while ago and it really resonated with me; I thought it was well-written and to the point. Thank you for challenging a practice that is often accepted as immutable by many Africans. Please keep up the good work. C Okoye, Buckinghamshire Dear Editor I must compliment you on the high quality of your editorials/articles, particularly this one - not an easy subject to deal with. It is very well written and every assertion is well researched. The insights from this subject are very frequently lost in the tub-thumping political rhetoric of them and us, making it easy for people in positions of power to just dismiss. My only criticism is that I would have liked to see some suggestions on how to overcome these obstacles/attitudes in our own workplaces, because for most of us giving up is not an option. But I suppose that is what you do in the career coach section. Keep up the good work. Kofi Atuah, London Dear Editor Thanks a lot all Akoras. We the students are very grateful. Special thanks to the '83 Year Group. I hope you will come and complete the project. God bless you all. All Akoras please come on board and let's fight for our school land. Don't let the founding fathers cry in their graves. Let's make them proud in their graves. Don't forget we are the pacesetters. Living waters to a thirsty land. COME ON BOARD NOW AKORAS OF ALL AGES. Thanks a lot. Roy Kingsley Otoo What do you think about ReConnect Africa? Share your comments on this or any of our articles Contact us on: editor@reconnectafrica.com |
